Henry is listed as head-of-household in the 1900 Census, Marshall Co., Alabama, Hooper, precinct 25, family #9, June 2, 1900: Henry Sparks, 33 (Dec 1866), married 8 years, farmer, self & mother born in Alabama, father born in North Carolina; Sarah A., 31 (Jan 1869), married 8 years, 3 of 5 children living; parents born in Georgia; Thomas J., 5 (Jan 1895), son; Joseph, 2 (Dec 1897), son; Mary E., 1 (May 1899), dau.; all the children were born in Alabama.

Note: His father's census data says he was born in South Carolina vice North Carolina. His birth date is listed as Dec 1866, and is age is 33 -- that is consistent with the census date of Jun 2, 1900. The "Memories of Rehobeth" lists his birth year as 1867, but that would only make him 32 and is therefore not considered valid whereas the census data is consistent. However, both census and tombstone data are frequently in error and either could be correct. I used his tombstone data because it is more readily available for viewing. Sarah says her father was born in Georgia, but her own father's census data says he was born in North Carolina. His tombstone has a birth year of 1864 painted on the stone, and the stone doesn't appear to be legible, so it too probably isn't certain concerning his birth year.

Two of their unnamed stillborn children are buried by Henry and two are buried by Addie. ⁵³
