Miss ora Etta Martin becomes Bride of Dr. Luther W. Bell -- The home of Mr. S.H. Martin of Sandy river, Va., was on last Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. the scene of a very pretty marriage, when his daughter, Miss Ora Etta Martin, became the bride of Dr. Luther W. Bell., of Axton, Va.
The bridal party entered the parlor to the strains of Mendelssohn's Wedding March rendered by Miss Sallie Bell, sister of the groom. The marriage was solemized in the presence of the immediate relatives of the contracting parties and a few intimate friends, Rev. Humphries, Pastor of Mount Vernon Church, officiating.
Miss Sallie Martin, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Mr. George L. Bell, of Danville, brother of the groom, best man.
The bride was beautifully dressed in white silk mull and carried a large bouquet of white hydrangeas. The groom was dressed in conventional black.
The home was tastefully decorated with evergreens for the occasion.
Immediately after the ceremony the guests repaired to the dining room, where a delightful repast was served, after which the bridal party left for the home of the groom's parents, Mr. W.A. Bell, where a grand reception was given for them.
The bride is an attractive and accomplished young lady of this County, where she has many friends and admirers.
The groom is a highly esteemed young man and a graduate of the Memphis Hospital Medical College.
Dr. and Mrs. Bell will make their future home at Hinesville, Pittsylvania County. The young couple have the best wishes of their many friends for a long and happy life.
